I'm not normally someone that gets easily upset, but this also seriously pissed me off.
To use the license in something as cheap as this is really a slap in the face of the loyal fans this game has. |

Exactly. The app in itself is pretty much like the original without our favorite lil goodies.

Hi guys, I'm one of the developers on the Evil Genius social game. We're sorry that we haven't yet been able to give you the full sequel you want; the small team who made this are massive fans of the original game as well! Evil Genius 2 is on our roadmap, but as usual it always comes down to business considerations, such as when we'll actually have the resources available to make a full sequel. At the moment we're tied up on multiple projects for external publishers, so plans for our own IP have had to take more of a back seat.
In the short term, we'll be continually adding new features to Evil Genius: WMD, such as the ability to fight other players, and more in depth lair building, so hopefully these will take the game in a direction you’re more happy with!

It's nice that you took the time to visit these forums. 
Hopefully you will keep in consideration a "proper" sequel to the series at a later date. This is an IP that could lend itself to some fun content (not only for video games, for example I could see an animation series based around the Evil Genius set of characters and distinctive look working quite well), and it would be a shame if it wasn't given another chance.
A bit OOT, but I'm curious, since I usually enjoy Rebellion's works: of the "multiple projects for external publishers" you hinted, any info you might share on what games you are currently working on? |

The only project that I can say anything about is NeverDead, our collaboration with Konami. There's a few official videos and articles flying around the internet. I'm afraid you'll have to google as I'm currently prohibited from posting any links by the forum!
As for the other projects, I guess you'll just have to wait and see! We should be able to release more details over the next few months. |

I was aware of that one, and it's looking rather cool. I like the concept of the immortal character who reassembles himself.

Thank you, Mr/Mrs Rebellion, for being considerate enough to get in contact with us. This has got to be the first time I've seen a developer give a damn about a community in this way, and it's really nice to see.
I don't like Facebook games, but I have yours up so I can listen to the A-Grade Evil Genius music.
I assume this is part of a grander scheme of reintroducing the Evil Genius franchise into the gaming community?
Oh, btw, the opening dialouge from Foxworth or whoever you called her - she says "Evil Geniuses" ... the plural is "Genii", not "Geniuses"
